One of the loveliest couples on Love Island U.K. has called it quits.
On August 14, Molly-Mae Hague announced that she and Tommy Fury had called it quits, just weeks after celebrating their one-year engagement anniversary.
In a statement posted to her Instagram Stories, Haig, 25, asked for “privacy” during “this difficult time” as she shared the news.
“Never in a million years did I think I’d have to write this,” her statement began. “After five years together I never thought our story would end, especially not like this. I am very saddened to announce that Tommy and I have ended our relationship.”
“I will always be grateful for the most important thing to me, now and always,” Haig wrote of Bambi, who welcomed the couple in January 2023. “
Haig ended the statement by thanking fans for “the love you’ve shown us over the past five years” since they met on Season 5 of Love Island.
You all have been a part of our journey and I feel it is only right to share it with you all. While I try to navigate the coming days and weeks, please respect my privacy during this difficult time, and I will return when it feels right.
Fury, 25, shared her statement an hour later, writing, “I am heartbroken to announce that Molly and I have decided to end our relationship. The last 5 years have been hard for us to have our beautiful baby girl, Bambi. I have been and will be forever grateful to Molly for making me a father, our priority.”
The professional boxer similarly asked for “privacy” for himself and his family “as we go through this difficult time.”
Last month, the former couple celebrated both the one-year anniversary of Fury’s surprise proposal – he convinced her she was going on a fake brand trip, only to pop the question in an elegant setting in Ibiza – and five Year anniversary of their relationship.
Haig and Fury met on season 5 of Love Island U.K. in 2019 and finished as the season’s runners-up.
